As you know my community developemnt work in Colombia with the US Peace Corps is four decades ago in the 60&#039;s. At that time the population of Colombia was 14m, it&#039;s now 44 m. I think Colombia would be a good &quot;new counrty&#039;&#039; because there is a greater need for community organization now than 40 years ago. Currently, students are making real change activities to stamp out the FARC and make communities safe for community development work.  For example, one of the largest  anti FARC marches last year in Cartagena was orgaized by a 17 year old student.

Colombia&#039;s unversity students are well prepared and well versed in what it&#039;s communities need and applying the SMRC model and values can make great leaps forward.
